I almost titled this post “The Morning After,” but this is a new beginning not an ending so it seems more appropriate to write in the present and future tense.
Yesterday SpotOn! and ColorMetrix announced a technology collaboration agreement. As a result of the response to our “media blitz” the reality is I don’t have the time to be writing this blog post. I’m writing it anyway because over 4-1/2 year of writing this blog the second most rewarding aspect (after your positive comments) is being able to go back and recapture the moment in my own words years later.
All of us at SpotOn! and ColorMetrix have worked our collective butts off over the last three months in order to be able to make the announcement yesterday. The most exciting aspect of this project is working closely with a company that, as they burst onto the scene a couple of years ago, I viewed as a potential competitor. The response has been nothing short of amazing.
I spent a few minutes earlier this morning looking at web traffic statistics, email blast statistics, and my email inbox. The news was well received. It is nice to know SpotOn!, ColorMetrix, Bruce Bayne, and Jim Raffel have gained respect for what we do over the years. The encouraging emails (some from people I expected and some from very unlikely suspects indeed) let me know that our idea of simplifying the interoperability of ProofPass.com and SpotOn! was and continues to be a sound idea.
My conclusion, hard work pays off, and oh by the way….leads to more hard work! My day(s) will be spent responding to information requests via email, telephone, and webex. Busy days ahead – bring it!
