Idea test beds

November 7, 2010 By Jim Raffel

image of testing ideasThis blog is an idea test bed.

I can write a post here to test which categories and styles of writing resonate with you.

I also have test beds for my other business interests where I can test ideas.

Do you make use of test beds for your ideas?

I don’t exactly ‘test’ ideas but of course I gauge what gets reaction/response and what doesn’t and expand on what works and avoid what doesn’t. ๐Ÿ™‚

I like to test ideas in my Linkedin group (other Linkedin groups too). Its proven to be an awesome focus group for me.

Mastermind groups have worked well for me as well as the “virtual mixers” I host for up to 5 people from my network. We’ll jump on a conference call, get to know each other and bounce some ideas around. Similar to a Mastermind group but you continually change out the participants to expand your possibilities!

    Respectfully,
    Paul Castain

      Paul,
I like the virtual mixers. I’m going to have to give that some serious thought.

You may have also read earlier this week that I just need to adjust my priorites to spend more time in Linkedin groups. As much as I love Twitter I think for what I do and who I serve Linkedin groups is a better place to spend time.
      Jim

Blogs seem to have become the first draft, beta version of many long form works, including honest-to-goodness books.
