First, yes I was at The Lodge last night (well technically this morning) but my recollections of that part of the evening are vague at best. Epson had a great party right after the show attended by most of the color management community. Next, it was off to the Chromaticity Monday night football party. An excellent event as always. Finally before The Lodge I managed to end up at the ESKOArtwork party at the Excalibur night club. Apparently I am told I had quite a good time dancing with my good friend Shelly Hall (She did tell me there is no way she will get a Brewers tattoo on the other shoulder to match the Cubs tattoo from several years ago).
GraphExpo ’07 is the year of the server from my perspective. As the provider of a server based technology (ProofPass.com), I have been keeping my eyes on other server based offerings at the show. Chromaticity released a new server appliance a the show which can be pre-loaded with several products which all work seamlessly together. First ICS Remote Director can be hosted on the server. Remote Director now has an API which has been integrated into many work flow tools so that a virtual proof is only a mouse click away. The EFI ColorProof client server remote proofing solution can also be hosted on the same server, making the appliance very versatile. Who knows they might even be able to host the ProofPass.com hard copy and virtual proof verification server on the same box!
More to come…..
