While this golden nugget is really intended for those of you already using ColorMetrix software products, I am quite sure the ideas and suggestions will benefit anyone doing proofing. The plan is to give you the headlines in this installment, and then expand on each of the three main points in the next three installments.

  • Increase productivity by decreasing time wasted to re-print bad proofs
    • Use your software to determine process capabilities
    • Make process improvements based upon objective facts not subjective ideas
    • Determine the ROI of your software based proof process control system
  • Prove to customers your proof meets the desired standard of quality
    • Build customer confidence with factual quality information
    • Remember not all your customers are outside your building
  • Make proofs that match your press
    • Once you have accomplished resolution #1, you can begin fine tuning the system
    • This may involve traditional color management of a methodology like GRACoL G7.
    • Compare press results to proof results utilizing colorimetric data
